3 Good Things to Live in San Bernardino

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيم
(Dengan Nama Allah Yang Maha Pemurah Lagi Maha Penyayang)

I always wanted to live somewhere else to explore a new environment after retirement. I understand moving to another country is not easy, especially when the place is far from my family and hometown. However, why not give myself a chance?

Of course, I need a place with an affordable cost of living, geographically easy to access, surrounded by nature like mountains, forest or ocean and the nice weather throughout the year. And probably, I will need to get a commercial shoplot to open a small cafe to sell drinks and my homemade cookies - it’s in my retirement wishlist too!

There are a few places that I have in mind, and California is one of the places that is on my list - In fact, San Bernardino is the exact place. Here’s the reasons why San Bernardino is one of my choices to live after retirement.

The Cost of Living is Cheap

It is reported the cost of living in San Bernardino is cheaper, 10.4% above the national average. It is not really cheap, but when compared with the cost of living in California 49.9% above average, then I can consider living here is more affordable than other coastal towns in California.

The living index of San Bernardino shows the grocery and healthcare are considered cheap, but not for transportation and utilities. And based on what I read, renting a house is cheaper when compared to most of California's other major cities, hence making San Bernardino an option to consider.

A City Full of Attractions

San Bernardino is a city full of attractions - with its impressive natural beauty like parks, mountain peaks, ocean within a short drive - these are absolutely why I want to live here.

Besides beautiful nature, other attractions in San Bernardino are the National Orange Show Festival (held every May), the museums - The Robert and Frances Fullerton Museum of Art, The San Bernardino History and Railroad Museum WBC Legends of Boxing Museum and McDonald’s Museum, raceway, farmers market, San Manuel Stadium for baseball games, Deep Creek hot springs and many more.

Job Opportunities

Apart from having a good house and beautiful environment, job opportunities are one that I need to consider. Although I am a retiree, I'm the type of person who loves to move around doing this and that, hence I need to work.

It’s good to check the San Bernardino County website to get useful information about the place, and if you are interested, you can be part of their park ranger, volunteer for the community or become a concessionaire for food or guest services for their parks. And yes, you can also check job opportunities online for San Bernardino, there are plenty of vacancies.

However, as I mentioned earlier, I love to have a small cafe to sell drinks and my homemade cookies. But before that, I need Commercial Real Estate Agents in San Bernardino to discuss and guide me how to rent the commercial property in the area.

Besides selling drinks, I’ll definitely do blogging to document my day to day life when I migrate, and of course you can make money through blogging.

Conclusions

No matter where I will migrate and live for my old days, I hope I can live in a beautiful place with peace of mind and surrounded by good people.
