3 Symptoms to Always Get Checked Out

Did you know that your body is so amazing that it will always let you know when it’s having
an issue and you’re unwell? These warning signs are the symptoms that come with various
illnesses and conditions, and it’s crucial to pay attention to them and not ignore them,
because some will be linked to very serious conditions.

If you notice that something’s wrong and you don’t know what it is (or even if you do), it’s
important to make an appointment with your doctor as soon as possible – the sooner your
condition is diagnosed, the sooner your treatment can begin, meaning you’ll get better more
quickly. With that in mind, here are some symptoms you should always get checked out as
soon as possible.

Sore Throat

It’s easy to assume that a sore throat is just a symptom of a cold or infection, but it could be
something much more serious, including throat cancer, that would need help from specialists
like those at moffitt.org. That’s why it’s vital to know the difference between a standard sore
throat and a more serious issue.

One thing to look out for is how long the sore throat lasts. If it’s persistent and you have it for
weeks rather than just a few days, that’s definitely a sign to get help. The same is true if your
sore throat makes it difficult to eat, swallow, or breathe. No matter how minor you might think
it is, asking for help is never a bad thing, and even if it’s ‘just’ a sore throat, it’s better to be
safe than sorry.

Persistent Fatigue

Being tired after a busy day or a restless night is normal, and even to be expected, but what
if you’re tired all the time and there’s no reason for it? If that’s the case and you have
persistent fatigue, you’ll need to get it checked out.

If you’re tired and there doesn’t seem to be a reason for it, it’s important to consult a doctor
because chronic fatigue can be a symptom of things like anemia, thyroid disorders, or
chronic fatigue syndrome, for example. Plus, if your fatigue makes you feel incredibly weak
or dizzy, that could be another sign of a bigger problem, including various heart conditions,
and the sooner you get help, the easier it will be to treat the issue.

Digestive Issues

Occasional digestive issues like indigestion or heartburn might not be a problem, and there
are various over-the-counter remedies you can take that will help soothe the pain. However,
if you get these problems all the time – perhaps every time you eat, or maybe when you get
into bed – this could indicate an underlying problem that needs extra help.

If you have severe or persistent (or both) stomach pains, unexplained changes in your toilet
habits, ongoing heartburn, a loss of appetite, or unexplained weight loss, definitely make an
appointment with your doctor quickly to find out what might be wrong. It might be scary, but
it’s best to find out and do something than not do anything and get sicker.
